Good morning and happy Saturday.
What a weekend we will have considering the weather, flash freeze on Sunday, temps are supposed to drop by many degrees over night and then very cold on Monday .
I was supposed to go and visit friends with Natty, so that the pooch can play with hounds, but if it is going to be too cold, well, then we stay home, I will cook and bake and knit ( and maybe clean my house).
Mister Pia is still sleeping, still not feeling 100% and I must say, I actually had about enough with the coughing and sneezing and moaning.I am considering to hide somewhere, in a spa preferably, would be nice.
But hey, I have animals to look after and a sweater to finish for Kippi.
This is a sweater I made for baby Only.It has nothing to do with cooking, I am just bragging..because it is so cute.
Yesterday evening, I made mashed potatoes and a pork chop, I cut it horizontally in half, so it felt like you had some, but not too much.
Here is how to make it and it was super yummy.
1 or 2 small pork chops, no bone
1/2 onion, chopped
2 small or one large apple, sliced ( I used granny smith, but any apple will do)
1 cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper
1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
1 tablespoon of butter
Melt the butter in a pan, add the chops and sear them until slightly brown.
Now add the onions and apples. Keep on cooking for about 5 minutes on medium high until the onions and apples get soft.
Now add the salt and pepper and the paprika, stir well to mix everything and then add the cream. Turn down and let simmer for about max 10 minutes or until the cream has reduced and you have a nice thick sauce.
